Born and raised in San Antonio, Mark Bueno graduated from the University of Texas at San Antonio. He earned a Bachelors Degree in Music Performance under the tutelage of Dr. Matthew Dunne.

While a student at UTSA, Mark performed and competed throughout South Texas, winning first place at the University of Texas at Brownsville International Guitar Ensemble Festival. Mark also participated in master classes from internationally recognized guitarists such as Manuel Barrueco, Ricardo Cobo, William Kanengiser, Scott Tennant, and Martin Madrigal. After graduating in 2009, Mark moved to Japan and continued teaching and performing. As an active performer in his community, he performed at cultural festivals and led a jazz group at the Kashiwa City Sakaine Junior High School.

With over nine years of teaching experience, Mark has had the opportunity to work with a wide variety of students from all over the world. He is very passionate about teaching, and focuses primarily on effective practice techniques so that the students can reach the goals they desire. In his spare time, Mark enjoys wood working and luthiery (an apprentice to Lucio Núñez), photography, and practicing his thirteen-string guitar.
